"and" is hard on gmat land because if we see "and", we have to prove that the 2 ideas before and after "and" are parallel logically. this involve understand meaning clearly and precisely, and , so , is not easy job. the focus of gmat is to require un analyse meaning problem.
choice A and E make terrible mistake because they mean

the action of "have found" and "is proportional" can not be parallel logically. this is wrong
this mistake is so basic and important that gmat test this error many times in og questions.
