Target question: What is the value of r/2 + s/2?
This is a great candidate for REPHRASING the target question.
Since both fractions have the same denominator, we can add the numerators.
We get: r/2 + s/2 = (r + s)/2
REPHRASED target question: What is the value of (r + s)/2

Statement 1: (r + s)/2 = 5
This is PERFECT!
Since we can answer the REPHRASED target question with certainty, statement 1 is SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: r + s = 10
If r + s = 10, then (r + s)/2 = (10)/2 = 5
Since we can answer the REPHRASED target question with certainty, statement 2 is SUFFICIENT

Answer = D
