Solution:

We can let H, M, and P be the price of the hard drive, monitor, and printer, respectively. Based on the information given, we can create the equations:

H + M + P = 2,500,

M + P = (2/3)H,

and

P = M + 100

We can substitute (2/3)H for M + P in the first equation and obtain:

H + (2/3)H = 2,500

3H + 2H = 7,500

5H = 7,500

H = 1,500

So we have M + P = (2/3)(1,500) = 1,000 and hence M = 1,000 - P. Substituting this into the third equation, we have:

P = 1,000 - P + 100

2P = 1,100

P = 550

Answer: C
