Good questions to ask at an MBA fair?

by SigGolfer » Wed Sep 12, 2007 9:06 am
I'm going to an MBA Fair on Saturday and I was wondering if anyone had any particularly insightful questions that would be good to ask the Business School representatives? This Fair is pretty important for me, since I won't have a chance to visit the B-Schools in-person before I apply. I appreciate your help!

Do your homework well!
Find out more informations about your target schools.
- check out their offficial site;
-read students blog;
& you'll know many insights but you'll become more curious & automatically questions start sprouting in your mind ;) thats what happens with me.

Ultimately it's your dream / journey.

You might wanna know about
-culture of the school
-how much working in team is imp to sail through MBA from that particular school
-Urban / rural culture & surroundings ....+ living expenses , partying/ splurge...
the ones I have listed above are general question. You should talk about something that you'd not know otherwise from world wide web.

Like: You should not ask 'how many studentsare from international background?' :roll: it's already there in stats page of their website. Instead you should ask how many of them actually came directly from foreign land without living in US before. You will never get such info on sites ;)

I can come up with more questions if you need, (just reply it );
but I would leave it to individuals.

Thanks for the suggestions. No, I don't have that book. I'll probably try to skim through it at my local Barnes & Noble. I am planning to ask about the culture of the school, living arrangements, specific scholarship opportunities, average class size, etc.

Eric, the edition you linked to is the 3rd edition. The 4th edition is now available. As a matter of fact, I just bought it couple of days back myself! I am not sure how different the 4th ed is from the 3rd ed but just throwing it out there...

Well, today is the big day. Thanks for the help. Now, I just have to decide on my wardrobe. Hmm.... Crocs, Hammer Pants, and a tank top.... no, too formal....
