First, do all schools or do the majority require verification of salary data? Do they simply ask for verbal confirmation with your HR department or do they require W2s or other tax filings/ bank statements. I have come across this information from Re Vera and would like to know if I need to start locating old files.
"If your school requires the verification of salary data, we may need you to produce W2s or other documentation as verification. This may happen if we cannot verify your salary information through the HR department or if the salary information is incorrect"
How to schools verify salary data?

i don't remember submitting any w-2 forms. i know they did a background check but i'm not sure exactly what that all entailed
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

I don't want to scare you, but I've just read an article about the background checks for admitted students, read this: https://poetsandquants.com/2013/01/09/sc ... on-admits/

Hi
I was looking all over the Internet for information regarding this point and found this thread.
Do ALL B-schools ask for salary data? Also, how do business schools actually verify employment? How do they do it for international students? Is it through discussions with companies you list on your Resume, your recommenders, or do they delve further and even look at bank statements? What if someone is from a small company that pays a cash component?

That's a great question! And I think different schools handle it differently. I think in general- the higher ranked the school the more resources they put behind this fact checking. Some hire third party firms to verify such things- some will verify employment and some won't- but you should assume they do and really make sure everything on your application can be verified to avoid any unpleasant surprises at end of process.[email protected] wrote:Hi

Hi,
I'm going through the process this time and have very similar questions. Did you get any answers? Where are you in the process?
