MBA in Japan

by priyankasrdhrn » Sat Aug 12, 2017 8:23 pm
Hi! I'm planning to do MBA in Japan next year and have shortlisted Waseda, Doshisha and NUCB as my options. My Japanese is around N3 level. I want to work in Japan post MBA. But I've been hearing a lot about how an MBA holds no value in Japan. Is this true? How is the job scenario post MBA in Japan? Also, how good are these schools?

It's true that the MBA degree didn't have the same value in Japan that it has in countries like the US. However, things seem to be slowly change on that front...slowly being the keyword.

Knowing Japanese is surely helpful when you are talking to potential recruiters.

Having said that, don't assume that the situation has changed dramatically. Try getting in touch with international students studying in your target schools and find out what they say about the pros and cons. Then take a call.

Good luck!
