Essay - style question

by AleksandrM » Fri May 23, 2008 8:46 pm
I am applying to MS accounting programs. One of the essay questions asks about how I became interested in accounting. As I recount the story, I refer to a book that had a genuine impact on my thinking. Would this be alright, or is this too academic?

Hi Ales,
To be honest, I am not familiar with MS Acct admissions essays.

However, IMHO - with any admissions essay (regardless of program) I think its fair to use any tactics/examples/stories to best position your candidacy within the essay word limits. If you feel the story does this, without taking up too much of your essay, then go for it.

Good luck!
