Taking The GMAT w/o Studying?
This topic has expert replies
Hello, I'm trying to take the GMAT without any studying. My target goal is a score of 470 (without the IR portion), is that reasonable? If not, I have the option of studying it for about a week, would that help even its such little time? Thank you for your input. [/b]

Hi Israel7,
The average score on the Official GMAT hovers around 540-550 most years - but most of the people who choose to face the GMAT put in some manner of measurable study time first. Unfortunately, unless you've taken a realistic practice CAT Test - so that we have a score to assess your current skills - we really have no idea what YOU are capable of on the Official GMAT.
From what you describe, you won't have much study time either way, but I would still suggest that you do some work (to at least familiarize yourself with the question types and the "feel" of the Exam).
1) Why is your goal score 470?
2) Are you facing some type of application deadline?

The only way to know whether that's reasonable is to take a practice exam, accurately timed. You can download the GMATPrep software from GMAC at mba.com, or you can take a free exam with any leading test prep company. You can take ours here: https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/free ... tice-test/Israel7 wrote:Hello, I'm trying to take the GMAT without any studying. Many students get above a 470 the 1st time with no prep, but many do not. We can't really give you any advice before you know what your baseline is.
