Profile for MS Finance or MIM

by mke » Tue Sep 27, 2016 1:19 pm
Hey,

I am looking for a suitable MSc Finance ( could also be Banking / Corporate Finance) or MiM Program program in USA/ Europe.

Let me shortly talk about my profile:
GMAT 1 : 680 Q47 V35 Feb 2016
GPA: 2,18 on a 4-point scale where 1 is the best grade ... approx. 3.1 - 3.3 in the US GPA scale.
toefl ibt: 102
undergrad: #1 ranked university in austria (university of vienna) BSc in Business Administration. graduated in 2016.
work ex: I did two internships á 3 months during my studies and am currently working in IT consulting in Turkey (current client is a multinational car manufacturer)

So I know that my GMAT may probably be not high enough for the top notch programs in the US ( like MIT Sloan). But I still want to try my best.
Thats where I need help. Are there any prestigious programs in the US, where I'd have a chance to get admitted?

So far for the US.. What about my chances to get into schools like HEC, Imperial College, Warwick, Bocconi, IE or ESADE?

Thank you very much in advance.
Looking forward to get helpful advice.

Greetings from Istanbul!

The best way to assess your chances, given that everything else in your profile looks strong, would be to review the average or median GMAT of the incoming class for each school you are considering, and see where numbers in the ~690 range start to show up. The tricky part here is that if you're looking for a Masters in Finance rather than an MBA, you might have to do some guesstimating, because MBA information is more widespread.
Outside of the European schools, where I think you will do well, have a look at Georgetown's Masters in Finance: it's a terrific school with a powerful brand and a great location, and your GMAT is above their median.

Good luck!
