Wiki is going away

by beatthegmat » Mon Oct 01, 2007 4:40 pm
Folks:

I've decided to get rid of the Beat The GMAT Wiki. The reason why is that this resource is too susceptible to SPAM and it isn't very easy to update.

I will be replacing the wiki with a del.icio.us link. I'm really looking forward to implementing del.icio.us because this system has a great tagging interface and should hopefully make it easier for you to find the resources that you need.

I expect to have the transition from wiki to del.icio.us completed before the end of this month (Oct 07).

Thanks!

Why
Intentionally
Kill
Interest ....

in WIKI??

You got a valid reason though! Looking forward to delicious? Will there be a timelag between having Wiki down and delicious up? Hopefully not, members like me who choose to print something might just pick that unopportune day.

Haha, I like your acronym. :)

There will be NO time lag with the transition. The list of resources will always be available to members.

Wanted to let folks know that I'm still moving ahead with this project. I just finished transporting the resource links on the wiki to the following URL: https://del.icio.us/beatthegmat

Using del.icio.us is a much more scalable way to quickly add additional resources in the future. Moving forward, I am only going to update this directory and not the wiki with new links.

Thanks! I hope to finish the rest of this transition work before the end of the month.

I've finished work updating the new directory and resources page! The wiki page will be no longer available in the next few days...

I never saw that wiki, but it is really a pity.
