ISB YLP Application Process

Dear ISB YLP Applicants,

If you are planning to apply to ISB YLP, below is a detailed description of the admission process that will certainly help you get an idea about ISB YLP program.

Admission to the Indian School of Business (ISB) Young Leaders Programme is a multi step (typically 3 or 4) process since it involves a lot of things like making a video (which is not there in the current application cycle), writing three essays and appearing for GMAT. There is a huge amount of commitment and effort involved in each step.

Be very honest in your essays. Admission committees are very good at figuring out who's written the truth and who has not. Spend about a month on your GMAT prep. Keep your videos simple. Don't make them fancy. They only want to see your communication skills and the ability to concisely disseminate your thoughts . Try to focus on your most important skills, biggest achievements, and valuable qualities that has made the person you are in your essay.

The interview process involves a one hour case study and a personal dialogue with an ISB panel consisting of three admission committee members. By presenting you a case study, ISB wants to assess your thought process, composure and ability to think on the feet and out of the box. The interview questions are generally asked from your CV and is written in the essays. Interviewer may also ask about your short term and long term career plans, favorite subjects, hobbies and most importantly - why ISB and why MBA.

Be aware and be thorough about each and every word in your CV and essays. Do not fake anything. Have a proper reason or explanation for each sentence that you have written down.

Connect with as many YLP students as you can before taking the dive.

Most importantly, maintain your calm.

All the best ! :)
