Some of the schools are requesting transcripts directly from undergraduate universities. I have studied in an Public, Indian university in which the student can request as many transcripts and send to his/her applying schools. Its impossible to ask the university to send transcripts directly to the applying schools.

Any thoughts on how to convey this message to applying schools?

If the schools you are applying to have recruited Indian students before, they already know this fact. Contact the admissions office and explain the situation. The schools that are asking for transcripts directly from your undergraduate institution are trying to prevent fraud. If you are forthcoming in your approach, they will more likely than not accept the SEALED copies collected and sent by you. You can also have an official from your undergraduate institution communicate the constraints via email or phone to the admissions office.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Anurag,

Your information is very helpful. After hearing my case, the schools have accepted the official transcript I already have with me.
