Toronto school MBAs

by bfman » Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:52 pm
I've heard multiple people say that Rotman MBA is unnecessarily hard and Schulich isn't what it used to be.

Is this all true?

Are Canadian MBAs generally a lot harder than American?

Hmm... I'm not sure about Schulich. I heard it is an excellent business school but York University, institution itself, is not very well known. I myself just received an acceptance to UCLA Anderson and Toronto Rotman. I don't think anyone can answer your questions (Are Canadian MBAs generally a lot harder than American?) since no one have ever attend MBA twice (and they can't) at two different schools. But as an applicant to both schools, I can say that the admission procedure at UCLA was a lot more difficult than that at Rotman. Typically, the top tier schools in U.S. tend to be much more selective and has much lower acceptance rate than top Canadian Business Schools. For example, the median GMAT score for UCLA applicants, avg. 3,500 applicants, is 710 whereas the median GMAT score for Rotman applicants, avg. 1,000 applicants, is around 640.
