Solution:

We can let the ratio of buses to cars = 2x : 23x, thus:

23x - 630 = 2x

21x = 630

x = 30

It follows that there are 23 x 30 = 690 cars on the road

Answer: D

How many cars are on River Road?
Since buses : cars = 2:23, the correct answer must be a MULTIPLE OF 23.
Only D (690) is a multiple of 23.

The correct answer is D.
