A / E can be eliminated because of improper usage of correlative conjuction not only , and
B can be eliminated because of faulty Parallelism as because should be after both.
D misplaced modifier superficially as well as, they refers to both the nuervous system and telephone system when we just want to refer to the human nervous system.
Therefore, the correct answer is C.
