Mike, Jim and Bob are all professional fisherman. Mike can catch 21 fish in one hour, Jim can catch twice as much and Bob can catch 50% more than Jim. If the three started to fish together and after 40 minutes Mike and Bob left, how many fish did the three fishermen catch in one hour?

A. 64
B. 72
C. 86
D. 98
E. 112

mike = 21 fish in one hour;
jim= 42 fish in one hour;
bob= 63 fish in one hour;

as jim works for full one hour therefore no. of fishes catch by him would be 42;

mike in 40 minutes will catch 14;

bob in 40 minutes will catch 42;

hence total no. of fishes caught in an hour = 42+14+42=98 hence D
