(1) x is not equal to 3.

(2) -x × |x| > 0.

Is √(x - 3)² = 3 - x?

(1) If x = 0, then √(-3)² = 3 holds true.
If x = 4, then √(4 - 3)² = 3 - 4 does not hold true.
No unique answer. NOT SUFFICIENT.

(2) -x × |x| > 0 implies that x < 0. Since x < 0, so √(x - 3)² = 3 - x will always hold true.
So, (2) is SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is B.
