by harshie » Thu May 15, 2008 8:08 am
Hi All,

This is my first post on beat the GMAT.
I am an ERP consultant with 3+ years of exp in cunsulting space for Telecom Industry CRM implementations. 8)

I wrote CAT 2007 and managed to get a decent score of 97 percentile. Did not apply to any colleges except IIMs. :? No Calls and no converts!!!!

Now aiming to write GMAT in first week of September (so that I am in time for the 15th Sept deadline for ISB admission form submission).

Wish me luck!!!!! :)

First week strategy!

by harshie » Fri May 16, 2008 6:33 am
For the first week of my prep I am revising my maths and related topics. This is not only to brush up all the Quant stuff...but it will also give me a head start because Maths has been one of my best subjects (cleared two rounds of International Maths Olympiad in High school).

Once my Maths basics are clear, I will jump on to the Sc and verbal related suff.

Need to work hard on SC and RC!!!!

AND REASONING AS WELL!!!!

I began with Princeton Review.

by harshie » Sat May 17, 2008 5:37 pm
For last one week I was revising my CAT maths concepts (CAT maths questions are considered much tougher than those of GMAT).

Today I started with the Princeton Review. I have till now finished the first 5 chapters. These are just introductory chapters and give the overview of the GTAM on the whole. :P

I plan to finish the PR end to end in about 20 days (lokks difficult  in the face of my hectic profssional life)

A good begining, I must say. Feeling better than ever!
:P
Wish me luck!

by harshie » Sun May 18, 2008 5:47 pm
Hi,

Its a good begining for me!
I had planned to complete PR maths in a week's time. I over ran my plannig and completed it on the weekend. Spent around 8 hrs on Satday and 10 hrs on Sunday,.....and completed the maths!! :P

Today morning I started with the Verbal part of PR. I have fixed the target to complete the Verbal part (SC,RC and CR) by the end of this week.

Wish me luck! :!:

Hi harshie...

Looks like we in a similar boat, am working for a Oracle, e-biz suite (erp) , 2 years work ex. Gave cat in 2006 .. 92% no calls. and now my date is 30th july for the GMAT, the thing being...we need to apply fast for ISB coz its on a FCFS basis. I am enrolled with PR and attending their classroom progs.. also plan to do kaplan/mgmat/800score tests. Hope things work out fine....

All the best.

Firstly, I dont think you get calls from IIM at 97 percentile. You start to get it 99%ile onwards.

Two, I would suggest to take the exam sooner (July) and reserve time for writing essays.

Best of Luck.

ISB Deadline

by crak.gmat » Sun Aug 03, 2008 6:41 pm
ISB 1st round deadline is 15th sep, second round deadline is 1st Dec... So I don't think there is any need for panic here...
