Hey Ronit, To echo Marty, I went from a 500 to 700 in just over 3 and half months so yes totally doable. I won't spurt off advice as the experts pretty much know how to say what I would suggest way more eloquently than me, but if you ever want to chat, I'm a fellow Canadian (West Coaster though) and...

As someone who took Marty's advice a couple month back... It's good advice and it works! I went from a 500 baseline test and what struggling with my quant prep, low and behold I was practicing everything timed. Within a week and half of going to untimed practice where I was actually teaching myself ...

I'm sorry you had rough go on your official test. I'll start by saying that overall you shouldn't feel too bad as 680 is still a good score (and awesome job on the quant!). Second, you aren't alone. Verbal is my strong point and even I saw my score dip between my practice CAT and the official test. ...

It could just be that they want to get you know you better. I know that sounds super corny but I know a lot of programs like to have contact with applicants before getting an application (at least that has been my experience, of course I haven't applied to any of the really large programs). Dependin...

Very good point Donna. I had my interview with my target school on Friday and I have to say I was very pleased with enthusiasm they demonstrated to having no only a strong cohort of female students but working mothers. I hope that I am able to further strengthen that culture and perhaps help the uni...

Thank you Jon, That was pretty much my sense of things. I've been putting most of my effort in to making sure I've got as polished an application as I can get, I wasn't as focused on the GMAT as I knew the averages are far lower in Canada than the US. Scoring 700 was a nice ego boost (and validation...

Thank you for this post. As a mother currently applying for a part-time MBA which will mean balancing home, work and school it is good to see steps being taken to increase the viability of pursuing an education as a mom. I will add though that helping to promote the normalcy of more egalitarian pare...

I'll start by saying I work in commercial credit granting and collections, so while I know my stuff with commercial credit not everything always transfers to consumer credit applications. Profile Evaluation - Part-Time Canadian Program
I was hoping to get some feedback on my profile. I am targeting the part-time MBA program at either UBC or SFU in Vancouver Canada. Age: 30 (31 at start of program) GMAT/Background: Female/White GMAT: 700 (47Q, 39V, 5 IR, 5.5 AWA) GPA: This is a bit more confusing. I attended two universities and ha...

My official score report just came in (I'm surprised how fast the turn around was) and my AWA came back at 5.5. So I am happy to say I can officially close the book on my GMAT experience with a smile on my face.

Anshul, Personally I find the level of difficulty of the Manhattan quant questions harder than the OG. I find the reverse to be true for the verbal. Go by the OG as the questions are retired GMAT questions. The Manhattan tests were good while I was studying but I did see a difference between my perf...

500 to 700 All While Working Full Time with a Toddler
Well yesterday was test day and I have to say I am happy to be done with the GMAT and on to focusing on the rest of my application. Now I know a 700 is not an overly impressive score for many on this forum but considering I was initially aiming for a 650 I am more than pleased with my result. A bit ...

Hey nsuen, Do you know where you are making mistakes in some of the quant topics you are having trouble with? I know for me I would have some theoretical understanding of a concept but when it came to the mechanics of solving the problems I would find on certain topics that I didn't have enough of a...
