I think west coast is best for these schools as its frankly closer/more connected to the industry itself. I haven't seen much recruiting of this in the top schools, much less of a focus area for them.
Best of Luck!

Agree with above, but also I would play up the construction management angle. Real estate, in the form of REITs/private equity/hedge funds, is a topic of interest with huge upside/downside to asset holders. Very few will have your background and potential operational insights -- i would emphasize ho...

I would also check a bit on Kelley's recruiting profile. Tech companies tend to recruit from California schools more often than not. Make sure that Kelley's recruiting office can put you on a career path you desire.
Best of luck,

Agree with the above. I would really push the Engineers without Borders angle. Lot of engineers, lot of people that do volunteer work, but I've not seen that many candidates that have applied their craft to pro-bono work -- I think this can be a point of differentiation for you. B-schools are always...

Probably no right answer on this one to be honest, but in my view: If you are looking to do venture capital/entrepreneurship, socal schools are better -- great recruiting networks, lot of students trying to do the same thing. If you are trying to do this from Kellogg/Chicago, you'll always have to b...

One thing to add -- perception might help you from an admissions director perspective. People see Big 4 on your resume and they assume you have a certain business training/skill set already. So I think the quant primer is more for you vs. external perception, in my view. That being said if you think...

A lot of variables are going to come into play over the next few five years Huge wage pressure in financial services sector, wave of consolidation in consulting industries, renewed interest in entrepreneurship, & more emerging market hires. On top of that, you will have a large exit of the boome...

Agree with above, employees/acquantainces are best bet.
Most of them now actually have day-in-the-life profiles on their websites.
Have done some work in the field myself -- you can contact me with questions if you would like [email protected]

Agree with above. The other thing is not to be tempted to get a recommendation from just the highest ranking person you know (some senior VP, etc). These recommendations come across really light relative to someone who knows you, and can do more harm than good. Good luck! Aveek Guha, President, www....

The only thing I will add is that the one year MBA seems to be preferred by business undergrad majors as they have had some education in these topics already.
Good luck!

People are successful in different methods -- the only thing is w/an online course, you might have more discipline as there is are regular cadence. Also, it really is up to the individual, on which medium they prefer as well (i prefer books).
Good Luck!

I would add: - 4 hour work week -- Timothy Ferris: found it very creative, but pragmatic in how to be entrepreneurial. If nothing else, its an entertaining read. - any tax book -- anyone should know how to deduct items, both in business school and out. I've found this very useful over time. Good luc...

My two cents: 720 is a pretty strong score, I personally wouldn't kill myself to try to get a bit higher. Round out other areas in your application to make it pop -- e.g., leadership, drive, entrepreneurism, civic duty. If the other parts of your app are strong, 720 should get you into most any scho...

Second the earlier post on financial risk management being hot topic of the next few years. Also, I think there is ample room to navigate from that platform to others -- corporate finance, CFO positions, etc now need a rotation in risk management to be considered comprehensive. Mostly agree -- MBA is most critical for that first job out of grad school. After that (say at 35 yrs old) performance & experience are weighed more heavily. MBA is also good, frankly, if you don't know what you want to do. As you learn more about the industries/content, you can adjust your care...
