OAE. I don't have an explanation to this problem , so I made a guess that there are other possible combinations greater than the given options that cannot be purchased. But I would like to have other people's explanations for the answer E.

Q: At Burger King , burgers can be bought in quantities of either 6 , 9 or 20 only . For example, one can purchase 26 (20 + 6) , 15 ( 6 + 9 ) and 24 ( 9*2 + 6) etc ,but can't purchase 10 burgers i.e without any lot. Shashank.ism has given a good explanation. But I was curious, can't we take statement 1 as: Y^2 + 2Y = 0 as Y^2=-2Y
or Y = -2. Or is it necessary to solve the 1st statement as a quadratic equation.

Thanks to everybody for providing their insights. Ajith's way was quite good : checking the unit's digit which is a surefire technique in case of doubt ; KSTV's way was also good using the formula method , but Ian's method was the fastest :- checking odd/even.
