Am I aiming for the right colleges with my profile and career aspirations I think you have a great mix of schools. Hi MR2015, What a fantastic profile. I think non-traditional candidates can have a leg up in the admissions process. Not only is your application pool small as compared with others such as those in banking and consulting, but you also have a chance to demonstrate why your experiences uniquely qualif...

Hi, Thanks for the additional information. I have some thoughts to share below: And yes, I'm going to play the female card. I don't know if I should even mention this in my application, but ideally, I want to pop out a few kids before or around 30. Given that I will be a part-time student, it will t...

Hi, Thanks for your post. Based on the information you shared and your specific request for bschools with a close knit community, I would suggest you balance out your current list with Tepper, Darden and Duke. These schools have fantastic communities and can really help round out your list. Regards,...

Hi, Thanks for your post. You certainly are doing the right thing by building an alternate transcript. Your GMAT score is solid, but the additional courses will help mitigate any concerns the adcom might have about your ability to perform well in a classroom environment. My main question for you is ...

Hi, Thanks for your post. When thinking about where to apply to business school it's important to consider not only your post MBA goals, but also what else you want to get out of a program. I recommend considering location - big city or small town, as well as class size. Great programs for you could...

Hi Xaniaphl, Thanks for your post. I think you've got great goals and a solid reason for seeking your MBA. I think architects often think they can design or they can teach, and many don't think about other business areas. I think your long term goal of working at a boutique firm such a Ideo or Conti...

Yes, the 6 month internship counts as professional experience since it was a full time opportunity after you graduated.

Hi Rick80, Thanks for your post. It's great that you are consistently scoring 650 on your GMAT practice tests. Keep in mind that often times the score on the actual test might be lower (by 10-30 points) than the practice tests. With that thought, you might want to keep practicing until you consisten...

Hi,
Thanks for your post. Your concern seems to be around your GMAT score. In fact, your score is on average (or just slightly below) for the schools on your list. I don't see the score as being an issue as long as you are able to write solid essays and interviews.
Best,
Stacey

Hi agupta9, Thanks for your post. Congratulations on your GMAT score! Given the information you've shared, I can suggest a few schools for you to consider. However, since I don't know your reason for seeking an MBA it's a bit hard for me to identify the best programs to suit your post MBA goals. How...

I would not worry about the IR score. Since it's a new section on the test many adcoms have stated that they will not likely use the scores in decision making this year. The AWA score is below the minimum cut off of 4.5 that most adcoms look for. This mean there is a great deal of pressure on you to...
