The Official Guide is probably your best bet. It has been said that if you can answer all of the questions in The Official Guide in under 2 minutes, and understand all of the content therein, you will be quite well prepared. It has also been said numerous times that it is not good enough to simply a...

For gunjan1208 I have edited my response as he makes a good point. At any rate, here is the Official GMAT question from which this question was clearly modeled: In Swartkans territory archaeologists discovered charred bone fragments dating back 1 million years. Analysis of fragments, which came from...

i received a pm. the answer to this problem is (d), but this problem is basically useless for the GMAT -- it tests formal logic, which is not in the canon of concepts tested on GMAT critical reasoning. i.e., the GMAT will *not* contain problems with all of this "if A then B, if not-C then not-...

I read the Mayor's conclusion as there is a scarcity of phones that needs to be addressed. The solution: pay phones. If there is an abundance of phones available to downtown residents at their home address, then it weakens the force of the conclusion. Experts, am I on the right track here? If you re...

When a CR passage describes a PLAN:
The PREMISE is the plan itself.
The CONCLUSION is the goal of the plan.
The ASSUMPTION is what must be true for the plan to work.

I have never heard this before. It's original. Very useful stuff!

Good to know! Thanks! After some thinking, I have decided to go ahead with the test and let the chips fall where they may. Timing is still a serious problem for me, especially in quant. I have been going through a lot of posts in this forum about the timing problem. My problem is that I don't keep ...

Cans is exactly right. Choice B does not address the spiders, but it does seem logical that alternating sprays as opposed to using the same spray all the time, would kill the insects instead of allowing them to build up resistance to the one spray that is used. Hi David, How's it going? What are yo...

In terms of improving on CR, how do students usually increase their scores? Hi tcon! A great method for increasing CR understanding and time is to think about truly comprehensive reviews. Think about doing the following when you work on a CR problem (for review). (1) Work the problem as normal (dur...
