Re: Please some advice, I scored a 640 and then scored a 470

Has anyone ever heard of someones GMAT score going down? What could have caused this? I scored a 640 and took the test again to increase my score but decreased my score significantly; I scored a 470. On both GMAT preps, I scored a 650. How can one receive such a low score. I feel terrible right now...

I want to say that I'm happy to see the posts of both bryantmichaels and osirus0830 . I believe there is some validity to both points of view. There should be enough hope, optimism and encouragement for an individual to attempt to better his or her score, but at the same time, an individual should n...

good luck!
Thanks for the link. Very informative. I wonder if Veritas did a similar type of analysis. If they did and they've publicly published the results, I'd love to read their analysis as well.

The Db did NOT get refreshed! the TOI did a shiteous job in reviewing the OG-12 and picked some random company to provide an analysis based on RETIRED QUESTIONS!!! I love the word: shiteous. :P Holy crap! It's actually well defined: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=shiteous This is th...

Anyone have any insight into my Q with regards to my candidacy to the top couple schools? Congrats on the 730! Despite your lack of satisfaction with the score, it's a very competent score. Most of the people reading/using this website would be thrilled to score a 730 on the GMAT. Well done! Regard...

Re: 1000sc# 171

Because young children do not organize their attention or perceptions systematically, like adults , they may notice and remember details that their elders ignore. (A) like adults (B) unlike an adult (C) as adults (D) as adults do (E) as an adult Why the answer is not A but D? Stacey , just for clar...

Re: OG 12 vs 11 vs 10

Hi All, I needed some advice on whether to buy OG 12 for my preparation. It would be my second attempt at GMAT. I scored a 650 last year and am preparing for my second attempt in August this year. I already have OGs 10 and 11 and thinking on whether it is required to buy OG 12. Can some one please ...

Re: 770 -- 50 Q, 46 V -- Content First, Then Speed

Nice cliff notes, even nicer GMAT score. Well done! Thanks for the write-up. I found many of your insights quite useful. My general attitude my entire life towards standardized tests has been, “Given unlimited time and patience, I’m perfectly capable of getting a perfect score. Let me work hard to p...

Today, I took my first GMAT and scored a 700 (Q45 V 40)! Overall, I am very happy with my score.

As you should be. 700 will allow you to apply to almost any school. Congrats! Good luck with b-school applications.

I did well on the GMAT today. Scored a 740. This was a retake (I had a 690 previously.)
Nice job! Congrats! But it's not like 690 isn't a pretty darn good score to begin with. Still, 740 does sound more impressive. Glad it paid off for ya. Good luck with b-school applications.

Alpha800 -- Thanks for all the flattery, lol! I am still an undergrad. Here, the conventional knowledge is that it's best to take the GMAT while you're still used to studying, etc... Maybe that's not the case elsewhere? I think it definitely helped me. Well, MBAs are a little different than most ot...

770 is just damn impressive! Well done! A very big congratulations! Tim , when you say that you're still in college, do you mean you're still in undergrad school, or are you already in a graduate psychology program somewhere? If you're still in undergrad and have already obtain a score of 770, that'...

Re: Will a good GMAT score make a difference with an average

Hi scoseg , welcome. I'm no expert on this subject but I feel I have sufficient knowledge to offer some comments. In the example you offer, where a 3.00 GPA is paired with a GMAT score of 550 vs. 700, there is a HUGE, HUGE difference. A GPA of 3.00 with 550, you can almost bet the house that you won...

Re: GMATPrep Tests

Just took GMAC's GMATPrep Test #1 and got a 710 with 45Q and 42V. I'm happy with the score, but thought the quant section was really difficult and the verbal pretty easy. Actually thought I aced the verbal and bombed the quant. How indicative are these test in terms of both how you'll score on the ...
