Try making a meeting group online with people on this forum who are in a similar situation. There's some good online group meeting programs you could use if you wanna do online groups. Team viewer, go to meeting, Skype... I did online work with someone on this forum and it helped. Good luck.

on a non related note, should i take the essay and IR if i'm taking a practice exam? Ultimately I'm only concerned about my raw score and I did take the gmat before and got a 5.5 on an essay. I never took the IR though because it wasn't available.

reviewing gmat software tests
I took the GMAT software test #1. Should I review the test before I take test 2? My concerns are that I might see a question that I reviewed pop on on test 2. Or is test 2 made up of a completely different test bank? Thanks Brent!

Princeton review had a really good test because of their content. I thought theirs was all around the best. The algorithm i don't care about since i use these tests for my test taking practice.

The 60 day study guide is good check that out! It's good because it labels each quant and verbal topic. I think that helps for problem recognition on the exam, especially in quant. But I don't know man, everyone is different just do you. Jay-z said it best "stand on ur own 2, do your own things...

writing down a timing chart
Before the verbal section (on practice tests) i write down a timing chart that helps me keep track of my pace. I usually write down the chart during the break between sections. On the actual test day, can I write this chart down during breaks? I'm wondering because I don't want the proctors to suspe...

you did well, don't fret it. The SD for the gmat is 30 points and you fell right in that range. Keep practicing, try new things, and keep an open mind.
