Zuleron, the reason I asked why not both is because this is how I see it: 1) To my understanding, the adcom does not look at the GMAT report. They only look at the GMAT score you include on your online application and make their decision based on that score. Other people in the admin office will tra...

Paying my dues (720)
Hi All, I have been more of a silent observer on this forum for the past year. I wanted to make sure to give some insights back on my experience on how I managed to get a 720 by listing some tips that I feel strong about: 1) Start practicing early, especially if you work full-time 2) Take the first ...

Pparun, I agree with cbenk121, there is no use of worrying too much about the algorithm. There is noway of having an accurate translation of number of correct + diffculty to the scaled score without being off by 10-20 points. That said, if these were your practice scores and you want to ensure cross...

I guess it all depends on the difficulty level of the questions answered correctly. e.g. V35 might reflect 30 correct questions out of the 41. Of those 30 correct, maybe only 15 are considered of 700-800 difficuly. On the other hand, V34 might reflect 29 correct questions with around 17 or 18 of tho...

5^17 * 4^9
(rewrite the 5 to 10/2 and the 4 to 2^2)
==> (10/2)^17 * (2^2)^9
==> ( (10^17) / (2^17) ) * (2^18)
==> (10^17) * (2^18) / (2^17)
==> (10^17) * 2
==> B

Thank you for the nice post Graham! If I may follow-up with couple of questions; in terms of work experience: - What would, in your opinion, be the minimum work experience for a solid application to a top 10 school? - How is the work experience viewed in terms of number of companies worked for? e.g....

-- Value of grad degree on an MBA application --
Hi, I was kindly wondering if any of the admission consultants have an idea of how a technical grad degree (e.g. Master of Engineering) is generally valued on an MBA application (top 10 schools): - Does it compensate for any work experience? E.g. If the requirement is a min of 3 years work experienc...

I'm getting 1.25 too...
2 x 0.16 = 0.32 liters of chlorine
8 x 0.2 = 1.6 liters of chlorine
Resulting solution 1:
1.92 liters of chlorine solution in 10 liters solution
==> 19.2 %
0.192(X) + 0.3(1) = 0.24 (X +1)
0.048 X = 0.06
X = 1.25
Cheers,
Sam

krisraam, the line we are looking for is not perpendicular to PQ, I was referring to the line we draw to calculate the distance from a point to a line. So, if point M is the mid-point of PQ, and O is the origin, then segment OM is not perpendicular to PQ, however, shortest distance from P to OM is t...

IMO Distance from a point to a line is defined as the length of the segment that lies on another line which passes through that point and is perpendicular to the first line. In this case, any line passing through the midpoint of PQ would be equidistant from P and Q and since the question asks for th...

dwityk dude if you are getting these scores on CATs, there is no reason why you shouldn't get the same on the actual test. If I were in your shoes I would go in with the attitude of repeating my 740. With verbal in the 90s and a little focus on quantitative, you should be able to pull an easy 700+! ...
