I definitely would recommend Manhattan GMAT cat's. I haven't used any of the other products. But the 6 CATS from MGMAT are great, plus the 2 from powerprep, that should be plenty of good practice. The closest thing to the real GMAT is ofcourse the powerprep, but the MGMAT cats also definitely improv...

Essentially for similar triangles
Ratio of Areas = square ( Ratio of sides )
Here ratio of areas is given as 2, therefore ratio of sides is sqrt(2)

I suppose if a and b are integers then you could assume the 5,12,13 triplet thing.
For the question at hand, like Stuart mentioned, there is not enough information available to solve it.

Still missing something here checking for -6 < 4x-3 < 6 x for (4x - 3) 1 = 1 2 = 5 0 = -3 3 = 9 -1 = -7 -2 = -11 -3 = -16 total x values fit is 3!! what am I missing!!! you were almost there. The question states that x is an integer, so you need to ignore 0. The actual answer was never stated clear...
