x^3 * y^6 * z^9 < 0
(x * y^2 * z^3)^3 < 0
x * y^2 * z^3 < 0
x * z^3 < 0 (y^2 is non-negative)
x * z * z^2 < 0
xz <0

y could be whatever. As long as it's not zero, y^6 will be positive

Distance: 100
Peter drove 40, Tom drove 60
Time is t, same for both

Average speeds are 40/t and 60/t
(40/t) / (60/t) = 2/3

E.

Sum/difference of two odd integers is always even. (1) and (2) don't give any info.

Examples
9 and 3, 9-3 = 6, 6/2 = 3 not even
5 and 1, 5 - 1 = 4, 4/2 = 2 even.

The asnwer is C

srivas you didn't test 0, -1/1. Those numbers usually screw everything up.

n = integer / integer -> n is rational, hence if n^a (a is positive integer) is integer, then n is integer also.

(1) & (2) alone insuff

(1) + (2): let's find least common multiple

25 = 5 * 5; 40 = 5 * 2 * 2 * 2
LCM = 5 * 5 * 2 * 2 * 2 = 200

if d = 200, sqrt(200) < 15
if d = 2000, sqrt(2000) > 15

(C)

x-y = .5
x = y + .5

x/y > 1
(y+.5)/y > 1
1 + .5/y > 1

Hence y > 0, then x > 0 also

3-digit numbers that satisfy the problem: 9 * 8 * 1 = 72
