First of all it is not the traditional work rate problem. It is more of solving the eqns. in one hour both A and B can produce 7 dozens working together 7x=77=>x=11 but since work happened for 14 hrs therefore x cannot be 11 the general eqn would be 7x+3y+4z=77 where x+y+z=14 also x<>0 and x<11 7x+3...

if you ask why did we convert to mod than answer is simple, since the original equation is in modular form so it makes sense to convert the second also into modular form and solve.

if probability of grain falling outside is 3/4 than the ratio of area outside the triangle to area of the triangle=3/4/1/4=3 C-A/A=3 C=nr^2 n=pi r=radius A=area of triangle =>C=4A =>A=C/4 now A=(root(3)/4)*a^2 =>rt(3)a^2=nr^2 =>a=(n/rt(3))^(1/2)r This is a good 700+ question. According to me if you ...

According to my analysis. 1 point increase in score in quant fetches you 5 point overall increase whereas 1 point increase in verbal 7-8. and you are almost at saturation level in quant. You know what to do now i hope? Just dont slip in maths, and work on verbal

In these type of question, the problem arises from wording. so lets see Stmt 1 50% of those asked liked product 1 Stmt 2 50% of those asked liked product 1 only can you distinguish between the two Stmt 1=> it includes all those people who like 1 i.e they may like 1 only, 1+2 or 1+3 or 1+2+3 where as...

I hope you understand a terminating decimal. numbers liable to give a non terminating decimal are 3,6,7,9,11,.... if i have to define it then I would say that a number in denominator would yield a non terminating decimal if the (number *10)(or factors of 10) is the only way a zero can be in its unit...

Re: 700(49,36)- Phase I over.
Dear BTG'ians, Sentence correction, is where i put in lot of effort but i think i relied too heavily on MGMAT SC guide. In my case reading some good grammar book before MGMAT SC would have been more beneficial. MGMAT is more of a brushing up guide but for me most of the concepts were new( I don't r...

Congrats! How was the your RC part? I'm having real trouble with RC . RC as I mentioned, is not different from CR and vice-versa. So if you think RC is an issue and CR is not than real problem is of comprehension, means you do not remember where the answer to the question lies. Around 60% of the qu...

Dear BTG'ians, Just finished my GMAT,15/07/2009. It was a wonderful experience learning from you guys. I owe a lot to the forum and think without it this score would not have been possible.
