My belief is that leaving questions unanswered is foolish. That being said, I fully admit I don't have any hard evidence for this. There is an experiment that you can run to get your question answered though. If you have some virtualization software like VMWare and ran GMAT Prep in a virtual machine...

Re: fast improvements on cat exams

While examining your test exams, I noticed that on Manhattan GMAT CAT you went from 690 (Q47, V37) to 670 (Q45, V36) to 700 (Q46 V39) to 730 (Q48 V42) all in the period of one month. Your Quant seems to be consistent but your Verbal went from mid 30s to low 40s to take you past the 700 mark. I am a...

Yea exactly. I felt like the answers to CR questions on the real GMAT were way more clear cut.

I agree that the quant is difficult - it's much harder than in my PR practice tests, but I thought perhaps PR quant is overly simplified. I'm hoping to score above 700 on this test. I took it a few months ago and even though I was averaging high 600s/low 700s, I got a 620 and I was really disappoin...

I found the MHAT CATs to be more difficult than the real test. I never got more than 730 and usually 680-690 on Manhattan. That being said, I got 760 on GMAT Prep and that's what I ended up getting on the real exam. My opinion is that the quant on MHAT is overly difficult. It's good in the sense tha...

I would say that either Veritas On-Demand or Manhattan Online trumps Princeton Review in-person. You have to ask yourself whether you want to learn all of the necessary groundwork and fundamentals (VP/MHAT) or whether you just want to become a guessing expert (Kaplan/PR). If your decision is truly b...

Well one mistake you need to rectify is the number of practice CATs that you did. Over 3 months of studying you only took 3 practice tests. This is simply not enough practice. You should get access to the MHAT CATs so you have another 6 practice exams to work through before your next attempt. If you...

In kind of depends on your background. If you're in an over subscribed pool like Indian IT Males then a 710 might not be good enough. Also, for what it's worth, Stanford's avg GMAT seems to be creeping up and I'm guessing that it might even hit 730 for the 2009 admissions cycle. In general, I think ...

I agree with cmf1202. I was an extremely motivated self-study person but Veritas helped me bump my score about 60 points.

Based on your timing strategy I would say that you're buying into the Kaplan myth that the earlier questions are much more important than the later questions. Many of the experts around here will agree that while the earlier questions count a little bit more, *ALL* questions are important and you ha...
