Hi Ron, I asked this question last week to Dr.Rudner during the GMAC Testprep Summit in India. The answer was this is a legacy issue i.e. having a scale upto 60. The initial plan was to use the scale for future testing purpose. However the current scale gives a fairly accurate measure of performance...

Replying to a few points from your last post: Right..even i am not able to figure it out. My accuracy for RC\CR is around 80%. The problem with using accuracy as a metric is that it ignores the "weight" of the questions. Essentially you are using arithmetic mean when you should be using we...

[quote="Jayanth2689"]Hi all, Took the GMAT on Oct 1st and scored a 640 (Q48 V30). This was my 3rd attempt at the GMAT and frankly, i was pretty sure i was going to break the 700+ barrier. My practice scores were in the range of 690 - 730. <snip> I read about a debrief in BTG where the guy ...

Here is a way in which you can see "note taking": The brain can do one of 2 things: take in the data, and process that information. So when you are reading it you are really reading stuff like "In Verland last year there was a decrease in blah blah....HOWEVER, blah blah....... Therefo...

Hi Rashmi, My answers below: 1. Inference and specific details in RC >> This seems to be a symptomatic problem. The root cause lies with how you read the passage, - the idea is to read the passage the first time only to get an overall idea of the passage. This will then dictate how quickly you are a...

hi Ras-j,

You need to provide more specific details such as your problem areas within SC, CR, and RC.

I can help with some actionable remedy. Also, please take the GMATPrep (with AWA and IR) to get a more realistic idea of where you stand.

You have a competitive score for RSM-Eramus, Vlerick Leuven Ghent and Copenhagen Business School would certainly be safe schools with a high chance of admission. However, Judge and SAID will be a stretch at your GMAT score (profile is certainly competitive)

Hi Galak, A few more things you need to consider: 1. Did the base-line test you took earlier, include the AWA and IR sections? If not, then your performance on Verbal can be skewed i.e. higher than your real ability. 2. You scored a V36 in your last GMATPrep and scored V33 now. I don't see that as a...

I think the answers are provided above. However, what caught my attention was "I can dedicate 4 - 6 hours daily for preparation over the next 2 months, Will it be sufficient to take the exams during November?" Somehow I feel you are looking at the GMAT as a test which can be "cracked&...

Hi Sampg, There are 2 questions here - I am not sure which one you are asking. Are you asking *why* your scores were lower than those in the practice test? Or are you asking if you can ever improve your scores? The answer to the latter question is "yes" - you just need to analyze your mist...

I don't know where you picked the active brain/secondary brain concept from. There is only 1 brain which works while you take the test. Now the point here is: are your techniques helping you on the real test? A lot of times we learn approaches that sound cool but are worthless because it is impracti...
