Confidence, per se , is not a deterrent to achieve one's goals, overconfidence certainly is. Unless you are confident about your preparations, your strategies , your timing, the whole GMAT exercise might go down the drain.. I agree with you when you say that one should feel challenged during an exam...

nope! The package is designed in such a manner that until you complete all the 6 tests once, you cannot resit for the 1st one.

one thing to note here in this question is two answer choices are pretty closessmiles08 wrote:
the radius is 1, so you subtract 2.5 from 1 to get ~1.5 which is closest to A.
A) 1.4 and B) (2) ^1/2 ~ 1.414
if we bring down the calculation to ~1.5 , either A or B could be the answer..

The MGMAT kit consists of 6 tests including the free test. You ll start seeing repeats only when you are done with one round of all the 6 tests.

It is always better to take the test as early as possible for a couple of reasons. Taking the test early on gives you sufficient time to craft the rest of your application package . Hi! First of all don't panic ! It ll only be beneficial to compose yourself and think through the situation clearly!! thanks for those encouraging words, ssmiles08!! I m surely going to look into some well written stuff and The Economist will be one of them. But i very strongly feel that i messed up equally in all 3 sections in the test coz 34 is way below my expectations!
