With HBS announcing its Round 1 decisions today, let's have a little fun... Harvard does NOT sell seats in its incoming class, but what if they did? Hi euro, Unfortunately that screen shot is so small that we're not able to make out the message on the screen. We just tested it, and it seems to be working fine. Can you tell me what error message (if any) you're getting? Once you register, you will receive an email from customersupport@veritasprep...

Hi Vishal, Thanks for your feedback. While a very vocal minority of students has demanded that we make our books available on -book platforms such as the Kindle and the iPad, we don't plan on devoting a great deal of resources to reinventing our books for these electronic platforms in the short term...

Hello, I disagree that no int'l experience and no NGo work means no LBS. It's definitely not that cut and dry. But you come from a very competitive applicant pool (male/Indian/engineer), so you do need something to set you apart from the pack. Int'l experience and NGO work are two ways to do that, b...

Hello, I do think you have the makings of a competitive profile for those schools. The key will be to distinguish yourself from all of the other male/Indian/engineering applicants who will also be competing for slots at those schools. You can do that with essays and letters of recommendation that hi...

Hello,

I really do recommend that you take another shot at the GMAT. While it's not impossible that you could get into those schools with a 640, it's low enough that even SMU might end up rejecting you when you expect that it's actually a relatively "safe" school for you.

Good luck!

Hi Kristen, I wouldn't worry too much about looking like you've taken the GMAT too many times. If I were in your shoes and had to choose between submitting a 640 and submitting a 670 after taking the test four times, I'd definitely choose the latter. There is indeed a point when admissions officers ...

Hello, One big question for you: Why do you want an MBA? What do you see yourself doing with it? (Okay, that was two questions...) That will have a lot to do with your school selection and your chances of getting in. Your GMAT score is definitely low. At Kellogg, for example, a 640 would put you in ...

Hello, Without knowing more about your post-MBA career goals it's difficult to recommend additional schools. However, in North America, you may also want to consider Ivey or the one-year program at Kellogg if you're looking for an accelerated program. Your GMAT score is fine, but (as you know) your ...

You're borderline, but I think you'll be okay. If you were surprised by the 77th percentile score and are confident that you'd do better if you took it again, AND if you have enough time to do it (which you do at this point), then it might be worth one more shot. Having said that, I DO think you can...

Oops... typo... I meant "low enough"... :-) There's definitely no magic number or hard cut-off score, but a good starting point is to look at the middle-80% range of GMAT scores for every school's incoming class. If you're below that (and a 640 will put you below that, or just barely insid...
