I rated you around a 5 or so here. It may be a bit higher (5.5) or a bit lower (4.5), but I think the most important point is that you are "well" on the correct side of the dotted line here. You've proven your ability to successfully complete the AWA on the GMAT and should feel comfortable...

I think you will find a lot of great resources on here -- I'll confidently suggest that it is worth you checking out our ManhattanPrep offering here (https://www.manhattanprep.com/gre/programs/self-study/). Beyond that, what I will suggest to you -- more than anything else -- is being truly committe...

One other thought --- I also firmly recommend that you 'shut things down' at least 36 hours before the actual exam. At that stage of the game, it is as much about mental and physical energy as it is out trying to cram in one more piece of data. Good luck!! -Brian All: Below are my stats for 5 GMAT p...

Hey there -- thanks for all the data. Helpful. A few thoughts to share here: 1. Agree with the notion that you'd love to see your practice scores get there at least once/twice before you look to land the plane on the real exam. 2. Would love to see a bit more data to understand the time management c...

I would estimate this attempt to be in the 3-4 range. There are multiple typos, inappropriate use of the 'etc.' and contains multiple sentence fragments. I'd encourage you to attempt some more drafts here, and save time for reviewing your work before you hit 'submit.'

Hope this helps.

Echoing the earlier comments. One other thought -- if you write compelling admissions essays, my guess is that most departments won't even consider your AWA score. Yes, it would be great if it was higher, but I've always been of the belief that ~4.0 and higher is high enough to never worry about it ...

Scorpion -- Great work on a score that many will be jealous/envious about! In regards to your specific question, there are many variables. Do the schools that you are considering post an average demographic profile of their PHD students? Obviously, the sample size is pretty small -- but that can be ...

Hey there:

I think this is pretty good. I'd probably score it in the ~4.5 range. One item of particular note -- please avoid use of 'etc.' when writing your essays on the exam.

Good luck on your exam!

Just popping out this thread one more time -- it seems like an innocent mistake... and honestly, I'm not sure it's even one that would have been noticed/flagged by the majority of admissions officers -- unless they are running the essays through a word counter. All the best!

I think this is 'okay', but offers some basic opportunities for improvement. First paragraph has run on sentence, 'preceding' is spelled incorrectly, the last sentence is run-on, etc. The structure is good -- but you must pay attention to the detail. Hope this helps. I would score this in the 3.5 ra...
