Answer is A. it is tough to make you understand without a figure but think AC = 4 inches BC = 8 inches ax = 2 inches RC = . 5 inches SC = 2 inches. now as ABX and RSC are similar triangle AX^2/RC^2 = area of ABX/Area of RSC hence A wins. B can be any height if height on particular side was known, it...

m&M ,

The problem is that

in b,

a^m < 1 hence m<0 as a is +ve int

we already know ,

k>m

so whaever the value of k (positive or negative) a^k is always > than a^m

hence choose D.

what is OA?

if this is of any help from stmt 1, xy +z +(x-1)z == even odd + (x-1)z == even hence (x-1)z is odd hence x-1 odd and z odd hence x even and z odd putting back in the original condition xy = even z =odd which satisfies the condition hence yes x is even, choose A/D for stmt 2, my reasoning is same as ...

Hi Jose,

I can not get this stmt,

x can equal 0 or sqrt3 or -sqrt3
(0)^3=3(0)
(sqrt3)^3=(sqrt3)^3

stmt 2 says

x^3 = 3x

then why we are going for a avlue like 1.732 ? is not x an integer?

whatever I have learnt from all the Ian Stuart's lessons,

SD is the spread from mean.
as long as you do not know the spread for both companies, no way you can answer which SD is greater hence E.
