Private tutors

Hi Mayonnai5e, I have had my share of personal tutors, so I thought that I would make a few comments about my experiences with them. I think that a private tutor should be working with you and with what your needs are for the problem or problems that you have. I can honestly say that the private tut...

Hi Prasanna,
I just sent you a private message warning you about this post. Thanks for doing that. I knew that it was illegal to offer that to anybody.

Practice, practice, practice

The last two days have been kind of frustrating for me because I have never really had to do anything academic more than once. That means that when I went to college where I had to take math classes, I didn't have to keep doing problems over and over again to get what those questions were asking me....

Time spent studying

I thought about what other people have been saying about how many hours a day and per week that you should spend studying for the test. I also thought about when I first started my MGMAT online course where I was actually spending anywhere from 20 to 25 hours a week on that material. However, after ...

Rolling along again

Well, I am finally just about finished with the MGMAT Number Properties Strategy guide and most all of the Official Guide problems in that area. I think that what has really helped me the most, is that I went back into each one of subject areas to work on the MGMAT in action practice sets. I also hi...

Manhattan GMAT Criitical Reasoning Strategy

Now that I have told you about my experience with the Veritas critical reasoning strategy, I can tell you about the Manhattan GMAT critical reasoning strategy. I have their updated critical reasoning strategy guide that came out in May. I think that it has expanded on the reasoning principles behind...

Veritas CR material

Hi Mayonnai5e, I remember the Veritas approach to critical reasoning. It is true that they provided you with the groundwork before they give you a lesson on critical reasoning. Honestly, I did very well in my logic and critical reasoning when I took that in college. But, for whatever reason, I had a...

The end of my study day

Today, I did go back to the Official Guide in the math review section, to go over the property of numbers, exponents and roots, and other subjects related to what I have been studying in the Manhattan GMAT Number Properties Strategy Guide. It was great to go over that material because the Official G...

The subject material tested on the GMAT

I decided that I need to do what I call a continuous review of the subject material that I am learning in my GMAT preparation process. I thought that it would also be a good idea to do a review of the topics presented after I finish each one of the Manhattan GMAT strategy guides before moving on to ...

Very good advice, Stacey

I have been going over the questions in the Official Guide that I marked for "review." Those questions were the ones that I didn't really understand the concept behind them. I am glad that I am going back through those questions because the second time around, has made me understand things...

Learning something new everyday

I have completed the problem solving part of the MGMAT Number Properties Strategy Guide. I decided to wait until tomorrow to do the remaining Number Properties Data Sufficiency Strategies and the practice problems for them in the Official Guides. Well, why would I want to wait another day or so to f...

Manhattan GMAT

I would take a look at the Manhattan GMAT virtual online course. Go to manhattangmat.com for details on that course. It is a nine week course that is taught "live" by two instructors. I think that is by far the best GMAT prep course that there is. Manhattan GMAT definitely covers all of th...

GMAT prep guides

I think that it depends on what you want to spend on a GMAT test prep guide? The first book I would buy for sure, is the Official Guide to the GMAT, 11th edition. That is one study guide that you need to have first and foremost. Do you have a plan about how you want to study for the test? You should...

Practicing

Hi Enginpassa1, If you are practicing problems in the Official Guide, did you make up some sort of plan about what you wanted to study? And, if you are missing things and scoring lower on your practice test or tests, did you go over every question from the one that you took before? How many practice...

Manhattan GMAT covers all of the bases

Eric, I have to say that in addition to presenting a very well developed and very well thought out GMAT preparation program, Manhattan GMAT puts out a whole lot of extra reading/strategy material that I think is very helpful. This particular article written by Manhattan GMAT, is the perfect example ...
