Sure, you do hold the ground to some extent. My advice on practicing the Quant is make sure you cover the basics perfectly. Don't waste your time by attempting to solve super hard questions. Too many people, including me, are so eager to improve their math skills by tackling super hard, if not the m...

You are already doing your practice tests correctly. Keep doing so... My basics aren't the problem anymore, so I don't think I need something too detailed. I don't quite agree that you have no problem with basic maths. The fact that you scored 29 on your Quant suggests that you missed a number of me...

@Ronaldramlan - Thanks for the advice. Yes, i gave AWA on every test and did not miss on a single one.I am not able to figured out yet , what i missed on test day. :( Okay, you are doing your practice correctly then. Keep doing the essays in full time whenever you take practice tests. In addition t...

I hear this often, and I have trouble believing it as many do. First of all, my 720 was heavily skewed toward verbal (I was in the 56th percentile in quant), and if I were an admissions officer, I would not admit someone with such a low quant score. Also, you have to look at the GMAT the way adcoms...

There are a number of things that you need to examine as you analyze your result. First, during your practice tests, did you do the essays before going to Quant section? Second, was your poor performance a result of a lack of mastery on the concepts and strategy, or a lack of practice? You may want ...

Right now I am, shocked, horrified, and ashamed. I just finished taking the GMAT about a half hour ago, and I scored a 700 (44Q/41V). While this may appear to be a decent score, the last time I took the test in September 2009 I scored a 720 (40Q/50V). This time I felt fully prepared: I wasn't hungr...

Did you do the essays before going to Quant and Verbal sections on each of your practice tests, including GMATPrep? It is obvious that Verbal is your weakness, and you need to quickly analyze which part of Verbal you need to spend your time more. If possible, arrange the SC, CR and RC in an order th...

One advice I did on my third test was to take some sweet snacks during the breaks. It worked... helped me to start on the next section fresh. Regarding your intention to tackle on difficult Quant questions, I have a good advice from an MGMAT instructor. He said "Build up, not down". What h...

Many have written about their 660 score, which matched mine on my first two tests, and I cannot stand reading their posts and doing nothing. First of all, I can understand how you feel as I was in your shoes. Feel free to have a look at my story here ... http://www.beatthegmat.com/gmat-660-quant-48-...

I took Knewton course for my 2nd preparation and ended up with the same score as I got in my 1st attempt (660). Eventually, I claimed my money back. This is not to say that Knewton is not good. In fact, Knewton has one of the best GMAT prep concepts and strategy. The problem is, as I have mentioned ...

I have no intention to discourage you even more, but I took Knewton during my prep for my 2nd attempt, which gave me exactly the same score as my 1st attempt (660). Eventually, I claimed my money back.

Don't misunderstand, Knewton offered a good learning experience.

But my concern is that practicing again from OG and GMAT prep material wouldn't help me gauge my improvement and accuracy as I would remember most of the patterns if not answers. This way I would never get to know my progress and readiness for the exam. Please suggest on this from where should I st...

Well .. there are a number of things that you might want to consider. 1. Is this the first time you take the test? If yes, definitely you want to take it again, but you want to make sure that you increase your score. Taking a test multiple times shows your commitment to face a challenge if you keep ...

You score, including the breakdown, exactly matches mine in my first attempt. I'm not sure to what extent you studied OG and GMATPrep vs. prep tests from test prep companies. But if you feel that you were pretty much heavier towards the latter, you might want to take a look at the following post. ht...
