Of course re: inflated. Totally makes sense. We've always recommended that folks should do the 'whole thing' as practice once -- preferably within a week/2 weeks of when you plan to sit for the actual exam. That way, you 'know what it's like' to go for the full-thing. Are you nervous about mental fa...

Thanks everyone! I'm overwhelmed by all the great advice! Studying doesn't seem quite so daunting as it first did. When I first started studying again, I was pretty disorganized. Creating a schedule as suggested and getting right to it at my designated time (creating a habit) has made a big differe...

Just took the GMAT for the second time and got a much more balanced score. 740 with 50 (88th%) quant and 40 (91st %) verbal! I was a little bummed that my verbal came down knocking me out of the 750-760 range but I still improved overall and I couldn't be happier about the quant, and now my score i...

What was the score you got on the Veritas test? How big of a difference is a 'much lower' score? Also, please note that essay and IR sections DO NOT factor into your 200-800 score, so they would have had no impact on a perception of an 'inflated' 610. Best of luck!! -Brian I am following the BEATthe...

Hello all, at first I decided to NOT keep a journal log but after some thought I think that I will progress faster if I do. So I just wanted to ask anyone who has had success with the GMAT who have kept an error log a couple questions. First off, What was the way in which you kept the log? Did you ...

Hey guys, This is something I've been seeing a LOT lately: students who have serious timing issues with Verbal questions on the CAT who don't do groups of Verbal questions under pacing conditions outside of CATs. Sure, we all use various GMAT timers to see if we can do a Sentence Correction questio...

I took the Veritas practice CAT yesterday, with minimal studying and got a 700 (Q45, V41). The breakdown was 68% correct answers in the Quant section and 63% correct answers in the Verbal. Is this reasonable? What can I read into this as a level of my preparedness for the actual exam, which I plan ...

I've just started studying for the GMAT again. I took right after undergrad but took a job offer instead applying for a MBA right away. Unlike last time, I now work 60 - 70 hour weeks and try to have somewhat of life outside of work too. I know my situation isn't unique, so I'm wondering how others...

Hi, Need a piece of advice - Self study(online course) is better or joining classroom training? Given the fact i am working and could be able to spare time only during weekends. Also, if one has to start from scratch OG should be good enough for covering the basics or is there any book you would re...

Congrats on a great score that many others would KILL for!! If you are concerned about quant -- I'd ask you think about the other quant-portions of your background (academics, work experience, etc.) to determine if those might serve as an additional data point for proving competency in quant. But, g...

Really nice work here --- great structure, good sentence length variation, and a clear story. Unless you are specifically worried about the AWA, this should give you the vote of confidence that you need to move on to other parts of the exam that may be giving you more difficulty. Good luck!! -Brian ...
