Unfortunately - yes, most top MBA programs highly encourage applicants to have several years of work expereince before applying.

Hi I, Thanks for your question. If you are shooting for a top 15 school, the best think you can do is score high on the GMAT. A strong GMAT score can help offset a lower GPA. This will be especially important, since you are a engineering-grad and your applicant pool tends to have higher GMAT scores....

Dan - to be honest, there is no one score that will get you in to HBS. As you probably know, the GMAT score is only one part of your candidacy. School will weight that along with your GPA, work expereince, essays, LORs, etc. I would say the GMAT only has 20-25% of your decision, if that... That said...
