It sounds like you're annoyed and want to let them know, but what purpose would it serve? Just send a letter asking them to remove you from the waitlist. Any more than that would be overkill.

You're absolutely right. Top schools consider a score balanced when the percentiles are more in line. The rule of thumb is both scores should be at or above 80th percentile (Q48 and V36). The scaled score is definitely not the same, percentile-wise, for math and verbal as you noticed. A 42 in verbal...

You really should not apply R3 as an international candidate for a couple of reasons. 1) You probably won't have time to get a visa, which means some schools will not even consider your application. 2) You are from a highly saturated pool of applicants, which means most schools will have all the IT ...

How many years out of college are you? It's not as easy to throw aside a poor GPA if you graduated in the past two years or so. Did you show improvement each year in your GPA? Do you have time to take a class next semester? You probably should develop an alternative transcript; just be sure to get t...

Obviously your top marks in AWA and IR are not going to hurt you; however, you're right that they'll only be helpful on the margins. I think the rule of thumb is that if they are too low they might leave the admissions folks questioning your abilities, but when they're high, they just brush them to ...

A 725 is not a possible GMAT score. You will be greatly hindered by your undergraduate GPA, for sure. I'm wondering if since college you've taken any classes to start to develop an alternative transcript? It will be helpful to demonstrate your newfound maturity. You have a couple of promotions, whic...

Unfortunately, I don't think a 550 is going to be helping your application much. A 600 would put you in the running, but so you know, the average GMAT is 695 at Kellogg and slightly low at Booth . Your background is strong but it's really weakened by your GMAT. If you look at the Business Week repor...

You don't think if you explain to your previous manager, she'll understand how important this is to you? You really shouldn't go back more than 3 years, but perhaps two jobs ago was only a few years ago? You can make the process easier for her by giving her bullet points that you want her to cover s...

Does running contribute to your personal AND professional development? If so, then you can choose either. The point is to explain your activity in a way that is compelling both personally and professionally. Running wouldn't count in that way for me, but it might be a metaphor for your stamina, etc.

This sounds like a ploy to get you to love their school more or to figure out if their career management office is equipped to handle a candidate like you. Either way, I think it's a good sign. It's an investment of resources and that means they like you.
