Yes buddy I agree with sureshbala's approach completely but then it will be a wayyyyyyyyyy tooooooooooo easy question for GMAT isnt it? So I am just going one step ahead and asking what would be the case if 7,500 was also in the answer choice. Lets forget about what happened to first runner up. It's...

IMO Total Number of ways the 3 people can be seated on 5 chairs is 5C3 = 10 The number of ways they can be seated with the couple sitting together is 4C2 The probability that the couple will SIT TOGETHER is 4C2/5C3 = 6/10 so the probability that the couple DOES NOT SIT TOGETHER should be 1-6/10 = 4/...

yeah it is very ambiguous.

since 7500 is not in the answer choices we can go with 12000 but what if both were there?

The second runner up receives ¼ of what the winner won.
Any idea on how to interpret this....doesnt second runner up refer to the contestant that comes in third place??????

Not sure if you have already but all these "subtleties" can be found in LOGITECH's post go through it carefully. I helped me identify some important things. http://www.beatthegmat.com/mission-accomplished-730-q-51-v-38-t31374.html Actually, during the test, I even found myself correcting m...

Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot kanha81, cramya and mayonnai5e for your valuable advice and guidance. I received my AWA score and I scored a 5 there. Certainly, you should not take this score as an answer, but instead GIVE all you have to get a better one. Remember that Pessimism has never won any battles, it is optim...

It is indeed very shocking and sad too. How many times did you take GMATPrep? What were the other practice test scores? We can't change what happened so don’t think too much about it and try again be confident and am sure you can do well. I am more or less in the same situation as you are. I too cou...

Along with improving your verbal score if you a improve a little in quant am sure you can reach your target score. If you are aware of the things that are tested and lack only in timing then it makes sense to take as many practice tests as you can. But make sure you are aware of the concepts. Try Ma...

Cmcwong, I am in the same situation as you are and haven’t yet come out of it with success but still I would like to share my learning and experience with you. I gave my first GMAT on March 2nd and scored a 570 (Q44/V25). I used to score above 600 consistently in my practice tests. It is not only ab...

Even I think a 41 in quant and 31 in verbal fetches more than 500. I gave my GMAT on the same day as you did and got 570 with 44 in quant and 25 in verbal. It was very depressing as I was doing well in practice tests and scoring above 650. Timing is a very important factor. During my initial days of...
