Thanks for the advice. Actually, this is the interview. The reason it's a telephone interview is because I live in Canada and the University is in the UK, University of Manchester. After reading some of the questions that were asked in previous years, I must admit I am a little bit nervous, but over...

Phone Interview

Hi everyone,

I have a phone interview coming up. I was wondering if anyone has any tips.
Should I have notes or cue cards ready? Should I write down part of the interviewer's question while he is talking?
How differently should I approach it from a normal in-person interview.

Thanks,

mr T

Too late,

I bought a cheap classic suit at Mexx for $120. Fits well...
From the statement, it does seem very relax. However when I heard her say business attire, I thought "better be safe than sorry."

Thanks for the input

For ideas, they can take a look at this site I’ve come across: http://www.mbaapplicant.com/universal_recommendation.htm. I think it was helpful for my referees. Have you decided which schools you're applying to, because many have their own set of questions. Honestly, I would not recommend sending ...

Hong Kong UST

Hi everyone,

Anyone have any info on the HKUST program? It's highly rated by the Financial Times.
There's a strong focus on Asia, but I was wondering if it would be difficult to find a job in Canada afterwards.

Thanks,

mr T

Hello everyone, I'm trying to find some interesting second tier MBA programs in Europe. I have already Warwick and Manchester in sight. Can anyone recommend me a few other ones? What do you think of Grenoble School of Business or University of Edinburgh? Are there any second tier programs that are N...

Hi, I'm from Montreal so I can give you some insights on McGill. They've actually completely restructured their MBA curriculum and tuition program. They were not happy about their MBA program as it lagged way behind other b-schools, so they 've made major changes. Actually, interviewing candicates i...

January Intake

Hello everyone, I'm planning to do my MBA in the Fall, but I'm also considering programs that start in Winter. I was going to apply for HEC Paris for the Fall, but since my GMAT is a low 640 and my undergrad GPA was a 2.9, I'm thinking I have a better shot, but still unlikely, to get in if I apply e...

Letters from business schools

Hi everyone, I was wondering how serious are the letters that we sometimes receive from business schools. For example, I received in the mail a letter and a brochure/booklet from Mendoza. In the letter they state that I am a priority candidate and that those who fit my profile have in the past been ...

Thanks for the info. So from what I understand, it's a mix between a career and personality essay, but mostly a career essay. I think I can pretty much merge two essays I have already written for another university and edit it, of course, so that it flows well and is customized for that university. ...

Statement of Purpose

Hi everyone,

One of the schools I'm applying to is asking for a statement of purpose rather than asking for regular essays. Should I treat it like a career essay? How different should it be? If they haven't specified a length, would 500-800 words be a good range?

Thanks,

mr T
