Got into a Top 20 part-time program with a 540 GMAT!

I just heard from the last school to which I had applied. I was accepted into a top 20 part-time program (avg. score 615-620) with a 540 GMAT score! For those of you who have been in the workforce for a number of years, you CAN get into your program of choice with a lower GMAT score if the rest of y...

If the other parts of your application are strong, and depending on where you're applying, a 570 may be just fine. I scored a 540 in April and just didn't have the time or desire to try for a higher score. Fortunately the rest of my profile was super strong and I was accepted into both part-time pro...

No to both. Bring nothing other than an ID and your fingerprint.

Well, first of all, don't panic. Put things in perspective. I took the GMAT in early April and scored a 540. And that was with 8+ weeks of intense studying!!! I have never been good at standardized tests, but I tried my best. I really thought I was doing well on the test, timed it perfectly, but sti...

No, 800score.com doesn't have the most difficult practice tests. Kaplan's are (in my opinion) the toughest. I didn't care for the 800score.com questions in practice test format. I didn't think they were close enough to the GMATprep questions (which I believe are the closest to the real thing for obv...

Question about the application review process

Hi Lisa, I have a question. Could you explain how the application review process works? I have applied to a Top 10 part-time program. They won't start reviewing applications until May 1 and will review everyone's at the same time. Since multiple people review the applications, do they use some sort ...

I have more than 15 years of corporate communications experience and an English degree. Even so, I still prepped for the AWA a little. BEFORE THE TEST - Read through the entire list of potential essay questions. That way, you won't get freaked out by the ones you get on the test. - Develop an outlin...

Not that this matters, but I just got my official score today and got a 6.0 on the essays. If the entire test could have been an essay, I would have been fine!

For what it's worth, I took the GMAT today and had only one permutation/combination question and that was a DS question (didn't even have to try to solve it, thank goodness!). I had mostly number properties questions.

By the way, I've made up a new nickname for the GMAT ... the GBRAT. That's how I feel about it today. :P

Well, not the score I had hoped for ... thoughts?

This morning I officially made it into the GMAT club, but not with the score I was hoping for. Here's my story ... I was mentally prepared, had rested enough last night and was ready to tackle the test at 8:00 a.m. I arrived about 45 minutes early and they took me right away, so I got to start befor...

Suggestion

Hello, I have a quick suggestion. I know you have a lot of forums already, but it would be great to have an "On Deck" forum for those of us who are down to a week before our test date. It would be so helpful to be able to connect with those people who have a similar test date (within a few...

ennifar, my test is on Thursday, so I'm in the same boat with you. I did one last practice test this past weekend and scored a 610. I hope to do a little better than that on the actual exam, but I'd be happy with anything in the 600s. At this point I am done studying. I'm going to try to relax the n...
