When exactly are you planning to do your MBA? Fall 2010 or 2011? If it's Fall 2011, then you have plenty of time to ask for a recommendation letter after you get the promotion. If it's Fall 2010, then I would tell your future boss your situation unless you think your future boss would fire you upon ...

Thanks for the advice money9111. I can always count on you for advice!

However, should I really send the transcript as my grades won't even be in yet?
If not in the Education section, should I try to include the fact that I'm taking some business courses somewhere else?

Thanks,

mr T

Resume - Add Unfinished diploma in Education section?

Hi, I'm currently taking night courses part of a graduate management diploma. I'm simply taking these courses for interest purposes and to get a bit of a financial background before starting the MBA. If I don't intend to finish the diploma before starting the MBA, should I write it down in the Educa...

Can we have redundancy in essays?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if admission officers read all the essays in an application at once. There are certain things that I would like to include an essay, but I have already talked about it in another essay question. Should I include it again in the other essay?

Thanks,

mr T

Hi, I'm not sure you're allowed to leave the break room to go outside and smoke. Can anyone confirm? Also, the break goes really quickly, since you have to sign in and out everytime you enter and leave the exam room. You also have to factor in the time to open your locker, get the cigarettes, go to ...

Personal accomplishment essay

Hi everyone, I am a little confused with the different types of accomplishment essays. First of all, what is the difference between an accomplishment and achievement? Secondly, is a personal accomplishment strictly unrelated to your work? Finally, can overcoming a certain phobia be considered an per...

Actually, I have an even bigger problem now. One of my recommender's computer crashed, so she lost my recommendation letter... She probably won't be able to redo it by Feb 1st. Oh well...at least there are some advantages in waiting. I'll have more time to spend on the essays and actually write the ...

Urgent: Wait or apply now

Hi everyone, I need some advice. I am planning to apply to Schulich (York), but their first round deadline is Feb 1st. I have not yet finished the mandatory essays, but I believe I may finish them by the deadline. However, there is one optional essay, which is used to evaluate scholarships, that I w...

Thanks! Actually, you made a mistake in the first problem when you tried to factor out 4^3/12. It's ok I figured out how to approximate the answer. For question 2, I wanted to see if there was a way to simplify the equations instead of plugging numbers. Your answer for the third one is dead on. I sh...

3 prep questions on square root equations

Hi everyone, I seem to have some problems with some equations containing the root of something. Thanks Bryant. That's great advice. However, I am little surprise that there are not that many canadian applicants for U.S. programs. That's probably more true for business schools ranked outside the top 25 and located more in the south, no? You mentioned about looking for schools that have a lower ...

HEC Paris - Recommendation letter

Hi all, I recently asked an MBA representative at HEC Paris about whether my recommenders could write their letter in french. The person strongly suggested that they write the letter in English. I fail to see the logic. It's not my recommenders' english written abilities that are being evaluated her...

Income Tax Problem

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble understanding this problem: Before being simplified, the instructions for computing income tax in Country R were to add 2 percent of one's annual income to the average (arithmetic mean) of 100 units of Country R's currency and 1 percent of one's annual income. Which o...

Cool thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, I read the question too quickly. I was trying to find the height of a normal isosceles (non-right angled) triangle. Way off!!! You're right the simplication at the end is a little tricky. I multiplied it by (2-root(2)) / (2-root(2)) to get to the answer. Thanks...
