Hi money9111, thanks for your response. Words of encouragement much appreciated. :) I'm definitely taking the GMAT a second time -- already schedule it, but I'm making myself be done after the next one regardless of whether my score improves or not. After passing the CPA in the last six months.. I'...

You could easily find an MBA letter of rec format on google. I did this then sent it out to my references and they conformed to it. Acedemic reference letters are only to be used if you have very little work experience (like, less than 2 years). Great letters of rec really help your cause and can so...

Ttronn, yes Top 5 schools are a different story. All of the programs that admitted me are top 25.. in my desired specialization... but not necessarily top 25 overall. I do agree with you though as to getting the most out of the program and where you want to go, the major con is the location for the ...

Hey thanks everyone! I guess I won't feel too bad if it comes down to not going to the school I put a deposit to. However, hman mentioned something that I am seriously considering. With an internship during the summer, the remaining tuition would mostly be paid for at the original school. However, i...

Thanks essaysnark! You pretty much answered my question. I already know the deposit is non refundable so I wouldn't even attempt to ask for it back (heck I would want them to keep it just for the trouble I caused). I was using this as a safety school and the major reason I paid the deposit was becau...

Paid the deposit... but may not want to go there afterall.

Hi, I wanted to know what possible repercussions this may have. The timeline is as follows: I got a 2 week decision extension to the school (thus, 6 weeks to decide), then declined it on the last day, then I expressed a little remorse (in response to the Director's response to my decline), I was all...

I belive they send them electronically and the school prints them up. I asked one of my schools if it would be a problem if my report went to them weeks before submitting an app and the women told me that she "printed up the report and will pair it with my application when submitted." It s...

Thanks guys! I am in the process of putting together my apps and will try to get ASU in for the 3rd round.

Isn't the fact that you've moved around 3 companies sufficient for you to demonstrate that you really aren't made for a big business? So in your goals essay, you start with your long term goal then support it with what you learnt about yourself as you moved from company to company, and while bschoo...

Apply to Entrepreneurship program w/ NO start up experience?

I am having a hell of time putting together my statement of purpose. Basically I want to enter an entrepreneurship progam but I don't think I am getting my point across.. I worked with 3 Fortune 500 companies in varying industries (food, clinical research, and consumer goods). I began to realize tha...

What if I am below GPA AND below GMAT averages? Still apply?

I have a 630 and a ~3.1 GPA with great resume and story. I was considering ASU as my reach school... but I would love for it to be my top (entrepreneurship plus sustainability is an awesome offering from the school.. UoA also offers this). The Average GPA is 3.3 and the average GMAT is 672 at ASU. W...

Why not DePaul as well? Depaul is better than Loyola (then again I am an alum so I am biased). Depaul is very well known and it is in an awesome location in the heart of downtown Chi... then again, I don't think you would want to commute that far, huh?

Thanks for the words of encouragement! Do you think I need to bring this up in my essay? i studied for three-ish weeks, but essentially at the same time as having three jobs - running the department, teaching two finance courses I recreated, and financial modeling work externally. I will constantly...
