I think your experience is going to be completely random. On my test, for probability, rates, and combinatorics, I only saw about one each. However, I've heard of people encountering more than that. In my personal experience, number properties, inequalities, VICs, and word translation were the major...

You still have a long time before you have to apply. If you can boost your quant score past the 80th percentile, they'll have no reason to use your GMAT score against you. Plus, you're not going to spend the next 8 months writing essays. I would say take it one more time in the near term, and then l...

@frank1 Sorry about your score. I think a lot of people, myself included, get intimidated by DS questions. Every time you mark a DS answer, there's always a little more uncertainty than any other type of question. I think for DS, you should practice the process of plugging in numbers and ruling out ...

Do you time yourself when you do the OG problems? That could be a variation from the actual GMAT Test.

I found that my OG percentage was pretty high as well, but on the test, scoring high is about how consistently you can answer the hard questions.

In my opinion, re-reading takes up a lot of time and should only be used on tough questions that are difficult to understand. I would recommend taking notes while you read. That really helped me understand the questions better as I was reading them. This goes for math questions as well.

Thank you both for your kind words. I don't know how much of this is reiterated in my blog, but the two keys to success for RC are your inherent reading ability and your standard approach to each question. Since you only have 16 days left, I would focus on the approach. No RC process is perfect for ...

Yeah, the Kaplan scores can be a bit wild. I would recommend taking the GMAT Prep test one more time. If that's not up to or above your target, then maybe you should consider rescheduling.

Good luck

If you're taking the Live or Online course, you should be all set in terms of learning material. I think they are the best in terms of learning both math and verbal concepts. However, for practice material, I would recommend taking on an additional resource. It definitely helps reinforce your learni...

That's weird, when I did the GMAT Prep Tests, it just gave me an actual GMAT score. 700, 750, etc. I would say that GMAT Prep is the most accurate test software out there. The only thing I would caution you with is that the GMAT Prep algorithm is slightly different than the actual GMAT test, because...

I second the BTG practice questions for quant. They won't be ridiculously hard like some that the test prep companies create, and after each question, you actually get to learn something. The video explanations are what make the difference. It's great to have everything you need to solve the problem...

For anyone else having this issue, if you have access to Adobe Acrobat Standard (probably through work) there's a function to compress your file and make it a smaller size. It usually doesn't visibly reduce the quality.

GMAT Prep is probably your first stop. I believe you get the software for 2 CAT tests once you register for the test. If you didn't get it, you can download it online. Additionally, most of the test prep sites (MGMAT, Knewton, Princeton Review) let you do at least one CAT exam for free. You should d...

Congrats on your score. I think there's a good chance I missed the first question of my test too.
