Let total (t) = a +b + c + d. We know that t = 9900, but lets keep it t for now a = (b+c+d)/2 = (t-a)/2, so a = t/3 Similarly b = (t-b)/4, so b = t/5 c = (t-c)x 2/3 = 2t/5 Putting it back in original equation, we have d = t - (a + b + c) = t - (t/3 + t/5 + 2t/5) = 9900 - 3300 - 1980 - 3960 = 9900 - ...

(1) Line could be y=0, which has a 0 slope but intersects the x axis at every point (basically, it is the x-axis) (2) Line x = 5 would be a straight vertical line at x = 5, so this means the line in the question stem is parallel to this, which means it must intersect the x axis at some point where x...

P(right handed glove) = 7/9
P(left handed glove) = 2/8
So, probability of 1 right handed glove and 1 left handed glove = (1/4) x (7/9) = 7/36
Whats the OA (and disagreement)?

for option A ) cant we do squaring on both sides and arrive at x-5 > 0 and hence X > 5 ? so that the answer is D No, since this is an inequality. Think of it this way, first condition is satisfied with both x = 4 and x = 6, but in one case the value of x is < 5, and in the other its > 5

dont u think it should be 5x4x4x3. at last quart we have 3 options because it has two adjacent quarts and colored used here can not be used Thats a good question, and made me think as well. But consider this, lets say we have 5 colours, ABCDE. Now, imagine filling in the circle in a clockwise fashi...

The circle is immaterial in this one, instead think of this question as how can you fill 4 boxes with 5 colours, with no 2 adjacent boxes with the same color. Here's a (bad) representation of the boxes |5 |4 |4 |4 | Now, first box can be filled in 5 ways, next one in 4 ways (since same colors cant b...

Let the minimum number of digits be x
Thus, total number of combinations (including repetitions) would be x^2
Now, we want x^2 to be atleast 15, thus x should be 4.

(1)
n = +- [ sqrt(2.89) x 10^5]
Ofcos, since k is positive, the negative root is eliminated, hence we are left with only 1 value for n
SUFFICIENT
(2)
Since k is an integer, only 1 value of k will satisfy the given inequality and will put n at 170,000.
SUFFICIENT
Hence (D)

I think this is where you are wrong: y^2 + 3 > y^2 The inequality sign would change if y is negative, so you can't really say the above is true, unless you know for a fact that y > 0 Thanks, but how can an inequality sign changes. Rules are if you multiply or divide an inequality by a negative numb...

1 -> 3
2 -> 9
3 -> 7
4 -> 1
5 -> 3

Let no. of adult ticket sold = a Let no. of child tickets sold = c So, we are being asked if 12a + 8c > 20000, or in other words, is 3a + 2c > 5000 (1) a + c = 2000 This doesn't say anything about the numbers sold. If we assume equal number of tickets for each were sold (i.e. 1000 each), then the 3a...
