Hi prakhag - good question. Each school handles it differently, but typically you'd spend one semester in the foreign school (and usually, the home school receives one student from the foreign school in your place). Most schools only allow this during your second year of studies, and we frequently ...

One hell of a ride: 640 to 730

From the time I've joined this forum I've been itching to write here. My desire,however,was completely shattered after my first tryst with GMAT. I did not want to share an unpleasant experience afterall I could only manage 640! As luck would have it, I'm writing this today with immense satisfaction ...

I've a doubt with option C.

Third paragraph talks about scientists predating Darwin accepted a "missing link" between humans and apes. Can this "missing link" be generalized to humans and apes having common ancestors?

You're right in the sense that Vernon will pick lowest of the bid but this lowest bid can still be higher than what Vernon spends currently on getting its job done. There's no specific information given about the bid per say. However, option E talks directly about increasing core business of the com...

Q1 option D talks about decreasing the cost of RANSOM, however the passage discusses three ways of reducing the TRANSACTION COSTS associated with ransom, not the ransom itself.

Given:

n.x = 1800 - (1)

(x-10)(n+30) = 1800 - (2)

Expand eqn (2):

nx-10n+30x-300 = 1800

Use equation (1) to subsitute nx=1800 and x=1800/n;

You will get x=30.

I was stuck between C and E but both don't seem essential to the argument according to me. If you negate E, i.e. it is not as easy to obtain guns in C as it is in M then also the argument holds that difference in gun ownership is the most logical explanation for higher percentage of homicide cases. ...

Airlines deregulation

When airlines were deregulated in the 1970s, the average price of a ticket was $135. Three decades later, the average price is $275, there are twice as many in air collisions, fliers in small markets are at the mercy of predatory carriers, and air rage is at an all-time high. It is time to re-regula...

Many thanks...this is really helpful.

In other words, it means that I'll have a breathing space of roughly 5 incorrect answers, so to speak, to achieve a good score:)

Hi: Many congratulations on your brilliant score. I've a query regarding how scaled up scores are actually calculated in GMAT. Different books/websites give different mappings between raw and scaled up scores. Do you get a detailed break-up in your GMAT score card w.r.t the number of correct/incorre...
