Thanks Jon for the feedback. I'll work on how to bring more clarity to the goals. I have seen first hand how cross industrial experience adds to an individual a dimension that is refreshing. This is why consulting appeals to me (in the short run of course). I understand that the long term goal needs...

Profile Evaluation
Hi, here's another profile evaluation request - 750 GMAT (Q-50, V-41, AWA - 6.0) GPA - 8.2/10 (I got this converted at WES, which said the the equivalent US GPA would be 3.98 - something that I found unbelievable!) Bachelor's - Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT 5 years of work-ex (at ...

kul512,
Is there a typographical error in your split score? From what I know, for 740 the sectional score for verbal should be more like 38/39 instead of 32 (with quant 51).

750 - A Bittersweet Symphony
Warning: This post is longer than the Iliad. Yeah, you read it right. I'm not over the moon with the score I got. More about that later. The Beginnings I started seriously considering the GMAT around late 2010. A couple of friends were preparing for the test, and though I had no intention of taking...

First. A suggests that until recently, the Inuits led a nomadic existence. It supports this premise through the use of a modifier (sheltering in ...) that adds on to the core of the sentence by further emphasizing how that was so. D reverses the scenario. It focuses on the detail of sheltering by ma...

parallelism b/w noun and adjective gonna be two different things here, as i said earlier m 100% confident on the concept that an -ing can not be parallel to standard noun but "the -ing of" can be parallel to a standard noun. Ok, I understood your doubt. You say that -ing can not be parall...

Brother, i agree that gerunds are noun but my point was A GERUND can not be parallel to a STANDARD NOUN...and m sure about this concept. Well, I am not so sure about this. Why can't gerunds be parallel to standard nouns? Ashish suggested a different reasoning that the parallelism is set between adj...

Rise in applications is fueled by three things. Clearly these three things should have parallel structures: 1. Resurgence (Adjective) of Patriotism (Noun) 2. Increasing (Present Participle, an Adjective form) costs (Noun) 3. Improved (Past Participle, an Adjective form) recruiting (Gerund, a Noun f...

There's nothing wrong per se with "is expected to provide" ( The class is expected to provide its own pencils for the exam ), but yes, "almost" is wrong in four choices and right in a choice that's wrong for other reasons. Oh sure, there's nothing wrong with is expected to provi...

Thank you Ian for great insights. In one of my GMAT training classes, I was told by the instructor that my score would also be influenced (percentile) by how others examinees' performance during that day in that test hall. How much should one worry about that? Huh! People never fail to amaze me! An...

Bad question in my opinion. A,B,E are clearly out for reasons provided by maihuna. Option C production is expected that something will happen - Weird construction. Doesn't make any sense. Option D i hope that in D we deal with ||-ism issue to double ..and thus to provide In D, the parallel elements ...

You are correct. "which" can even modify a clause .eg The pyramids of Giza, which are the oldest of the seven wonders, were erected from around 2575 to around 2665 BC. Just a small correction here. In the sentence above, which is modifying a phrase , The pyramids of Giza , not a clause .
