Hi there,

I have looked at GMATfix for the worked solution to this problem. I am still having difficulty with the following step :

Is - y > y ?

rephrased this means, is y > 0

Can anybody show me why this is the case?

Hi all, I just completed a GMAT practice test (official test prep) and scored 700 so I'm very happy (real thing in 3 days time). However the following question stumped me: Is x - y + 1 greater than x + y - 1 ? 1) x > 0 2) y < 0 The answer is (B) statement 2 alone is sufficient Can anybody help?
